Govt and civil society to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment

Islamabad- Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, recently held a significant meeting with Amna Munawwar Awan, President of the Center of Pakistan and International Relations. The meeting aimed to assess and discuss the current status of National Gender Policies in Pakistan. This collaborative effort between the Ministry of Human Rights and the Center of Pakistan and International Relations has set the stage for an upcoming consultative session on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
The consultative session, to be jointly organized by the Ministry of Human Rights and the Center of Pakistan and International Relations, is poised to be a pivotal event in the pursuit of gender equality in Pakistan. At the core of this endeavor is the publication of a Joint Policy Brief on the National Gender Policy, which will concentrate on four critical areas including , Women’s Role in Governance and Policy, Women, Peace, and Security, Women’s Access to Basic Human Rights and Women Empowerment. Empowering women is key to fostering societal progress and development.
The collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Human Rights and the Center of Pakistan and International Relations underscore the commitment of Pakistan’s government and civil society to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment. The consultative session promises to be a significant step forward in the journey towards a more equitable and inclusive Pakistan.
